The service schedules for the mk1-6 fortwos alternate as A, B, A, C, A, B etc.

As a general rule, a service should occur every 15,000kms (10,000miles) or 10,000kms (7,000miles) for the Brabus. A service must be performed every year and if the mileage hasn't been reached, the next service schedule must be performed.

Service Scope for A Service:

Checks and visual inspections:

  • Read out fault memory with diagnostics tester
  • Check lights and turn signal indicators
  • Check miscellaneous electrical consumers
  • Check windscreen wipers
  • Check safety belts and safety buckles
  • Check date of expiry on breakdown kit’s tire seal container
  • Check battery fluid and top up if necessary
  • Check wheels and condition of tyres
  • Tighten wheels to specified torque
  • Check tyre pressures and correct where necessary
  • Top up windscreen cleanser for summer or winter
  • Check brake fluid level
  • Check underside of vehicle for signs of damage
  • Check engine for signs of leakage
  • Check that the exhaust system doesn’t leak and is not loose
  • Check transmission oil level and that there are no leaks
  • Check condition and tension of V-belt
  • Check coolant level
  • Check anti-freeze concentrate in coolant and top up if necessary
  • Check axle shaft collars for signs of damage
  • Check all rubber bearings and joints for signs of damage
  • Check hand brake’s empty run
  • Conduct visual inspection of brake lines
  • Check brake linings for wear
  • Check brake discs
  • Check front axle’s wheel mounted brake cylinder for any signs of leakage
  • Test vehicle on brake test bench
  • Check steering system and collars for any signs of damage


Service work carried out:

  • Change oil
  • Change oil filter
  • Grease/oil hinges and locks for doors and flaps
