The SE-Drive is the unit consisting of the ignition barrel and the gearshift electronics. You will need to access it if you have problems with either of these two components.

Follow the steps here as far as the end of Step 3. You don't need to fully remove the carpet.

Free the base section of carpet from the rear.

With some effort you can get to the 5 sided Torx T30TXS bolts securing the SE Drive unit. These are not normal 6 sided torx bolts and will require a special tool for removal!

The SE-Drive has two electrical connections. There is one to the gear change circuitry:

And one to the ignition barrel:

Unplug them both allowing you to fully remove the SE-Drive.
