In the upgrade to the 451 fortwo, smart have now changed the fixing method for this light from Philips screws to Torx screws.
Using a Torx T10 bit, remove the two screws that secure the rear light to the rear spoiler.
Carefully pull the fitting from the car.
The fitting now uses a proper connector to how it was on the old model.
Unplug the cable.
Twist the back of the lamp holder by 1/4 of a turn.
Remove the bulb from the lamp holder.
Ensure that you replace with the correct type.
Refit the light to the car.
Screw back in place and test.
