Identifying engine components

Identifying the key components of the engine can help when diagnosing problems. The following images are of a 698cc fortwo engine bay with the major elements indicated.

The first step is to understand how the engine bay is arranged. Most people think that the smart engine looks tiny anyway but when you consider that only half of the bay is actually engine, you really do realise how small it is!
