Remove the triangle by carefully levering it as shown. Be careful not to scratch the interior plastic when you do this.

On the underside of the triangle are the main cable connection and the clock connection (if fitted). Unplug these.

Remove the triangle from the car.

The triangle is held together with four T8 Torx bits. Undo these and keep them in a safe place.

Separate the back plate, PCB and front plate.

Take the PCB and begin your LED changes. At the same time as this, you may choose to change your slider backlight.

If you have a mk1-5 fortwo, then your triangle is subtly different. Generally though, the principles are exactly the same.

Remove the triangle from the car.

This earlier style triangle is only held in place with 3 screws.

Use a T8 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws and separate the PCB as before.
